Timereel is a film production company based in Norwich, Norfolk that specializes in the publishing, production and distribution of special interest and nostalgia DVD titles. Timereel sells Documentary DVDs, all made using a mix of original archive film and dramatic recreations. The team behind Timereel produces the DVDs, scouring through the archives to select gems of film clips that bring the past back to life.
Our DVDs give you the chance to look back in time at the places you know. Our DVD range includes documentaries on topics such as wartime life, farming and steam railways. All our DVDs make perfect gifts ideas for Mum, Dad, Gran and Grandad, learning materials for use in schools and colleges or just a personal gift for those interested in heritage and history.
We have also launched a range of Greetings Cards using archive stills, which complement the DVDs, making them the ideal seasonal gifts.
The company was formed in 2003 and is currently run by Paul Desira who has come from a background in film and television. The company has worked with film archives including the East Anglian Film Archive and ITN Source.
Working originally with the East Anglian Film Archive, the team released a series of DVDs on Norfolk and Suffolk history in 2007.
Over time, the collection expanded to include titles for Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire as well as many Anglia Television favorites.
In 2009, the company began working with ITN Source. Using the New Classics collection, the team have released a whole new range of DVD titles showing unseen archive film, telling the story of Britain’s historical changes since the turn of the 20th Century through to the 1970s.
